Kaiaua Boating Club – Rules of Competition
•The usual rules used by the Game and Sport Clubs apply
•All entry fees must be paid before fishing commences.
•Entry fees are non refundable unless competition is cancelled
•It is expected that all persons fishing from a boat will pay an entry fee
•All fish must be caught on hand lines or rod and reel; No nets (other than landing nets) no long lines or set nets.
•No illegal methods
•Fishing start time is 1:00 AM on the day of the competition
•All MAF regulations must be strictly adhered to
•All speed limits and safety regulations must be obeyed
•It is essential that each boat is properly equipped with life Jackets and other safety gear
•The committee reserves the right to cancel or postpone any competition for:
In such cases any prepaid entries will be refunded or carried forward to the next competition if requested
•Emails will be sent to members and a post on Facebook page will advise cancellations.

•Weigh in will be before the time advertised and at the Kaiaua Boating Clubrooms
•Contestants must be in the queue at closing time to qualify for weigh in - no exceptions
•Only 2 fish per angler to be weighed in
•All fish weighed in must have been caught by the contestant on the day of the competition
•All fishing prize winners are determined by weigh in
•If 2 or more fish of equal weight become eligible for a prize, the prize for that category and the next category will be added and shared equally
•Prizes, once received are the responsibility of the winners
•Non cash prizes are as offered and not redeemable for cash
•The decision of the judges will be final and binding on all contestants
•For competitions where auctioning of the fish is advertised, all fish presented for weigh in will remain the property of the Kaiaua Boating Club, to be auctioned on the day.
•All fish must be chilled and acceptable to the scrutineers.
•Any breaches of the above rules may lead to disqualification and forfeiture of entry fees of all persons on such boat.
•Payment of entry fee constitutes acceptance of these rules and conditions covering fishing competitions.
